WIJJ
Ron

Ron — Owner · Head Instructor

Ron has over 30 years of jiu‑jitsu experience and is the backbone of West Island Jiu‑Jitsu. Calm, experienced, and deeply technical, he teaches with a no‑nonsense, fundamentals‑first approach that has shaped generations of students. Dedicated, giving, and invested in his team, Ron allows students to develop their own style while providing the strongest technical foundation. A true mentor and the heart of WIJJ.

David

David — Martial Arts Instructor & Personal Trainer

David is a true technician and lifelong martial artist with over 50 years of training across multiple combat systems and more than 40 years of elite, real‑world physical security experience. Over five decades of mastery, he has earned high‑level rankings including a 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Karate, and certified Kru/Teacher status in Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, Savate, and Kajukenbo. Disciplined, consistent, and deeply knowledgeable, David is highly motivational on the mats and a natural leader. He is the coach for the Monday kickboxing class and works strictly as a striking coach, bringing high‑level striking experience and structure to every session.

Kevin — Instructor

Kevin is a true technician with a deep passion for jiu‑jitsu. He’s always studying, learning, and evolving with the art. His teaching style is clear, simple, and easy to understand — he breaks things down in a way that makes sense right away. High‑energy, positive, and detail‑oriented, Kevin keeps the room motivated while delivering clean, technical instruction that students connect with immediately.

Charles — Instructor & Kids Program Coach

Charles teaches both adults and the kids program. Structured, disciplined, and technical, he explains concepts clearly and builds strong fundamentals. Patient and extremely good with children, he creates a safe, positive environment where kids develop confidence, discipline, and real jiu‑jitsu skills. His teaching is calm, organized, and focused on helping every student grow.

Fouad — Instructor

Fouad is a real‑life Jedi. His explanations are deep, intuitive, and easy to absorb. Generous with his time and positive with everyone, he helps students understand the art on a deeper level. His calm presence and high‑level insight make him one of the most valuable teachers on the mats.

Eddy — Instructor · Real‑World Self‑Defence

Eddy is a powerhouse of energy and motivation. With over 20 years of diverse martial arts experience — primarily boxing, along with weapons training and real‑world self‑defence — he brings intensity, realism, and purpose to every class. He teaches the Real‑World Self‑Defence program with a high‑energy, no‑nonsense approach that pushes students while hyping them up at the same time. Dedicated, tough, and always encouraging, Eddy makes you work hard and believe in yourself.

Vince — Instructor · Wrestling‑Based No‑Gi

Vince brings over 10 years of wrestling experience to WIJJ and leads the Friday night no‑gi class, which is heavily wrestling‑based. Calm, patient, and extremely clear in his teaching, he takes the time to break down every technique so students of all levels can understand and apply it. Always positive and encouraging, Vince brings strong wrestling fundamentals, clean explanations, and a steady, confident presence that elevates everyone on the mats.

Jade — Women’s Program Instructor

Jade brings strong energy, discipline, and focus to her training. She takes great pride in empowering women through jiu‑jitsu and leads the Women’s Program with passion and purpose. Dedicated and always improving, she brings a positive presence to the mats and leads by example with her work ethic and consistency.
